Your Writer’s Compass: Essential Tools, Communities, and Services

Every writer’s journey benefits from good company and reliable tools. Think of this page as your ever-evolving compass, pointing you toward resources that can help you learn the craft, connect with fellow wordsmiths, navigate the publishing landscape, and find your audience. We’ve gathered some starting points here, and we encourage our members to share their own discoveries!
(A quick note: Many of our own in-depth resources, like the complete Infinite Writers Style Guides and special member access to materials like the “Writer’s Primer” and “Life on Land,” can be found in our Members-Only Portal and on our Infinite Writers Books Page.

Section 1: Connect and Grow – Writer Groups & Communities

The right community can make all the difference. These groups offer opportunities for networking, learning, and support, both here in Arizona and beyond.

Arizona Authors Association (AAA): A statewide organization supporting authors at all levels with resources, events, and networking opportunities. They aim to help Arizona writers succeed.

Central Arizona Writers (CAW): A regional group fostering a supportive environment for writers in Central Arizona through meetings, critique, and events. Based in Prescott, they welcome writers of all levels.

Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi): A global non-profit professional association for self-publishing authors. ALLi offers advice, advocacy, and a community network.

Section 2: Publishing & Promotion Support (Local Focus)

When you’re ready to bring your work to the world, there are local businesses offering services to help you illustrate, publish, and promote your writing. These services can be expensive, and their marketing efforts are often ineffective. However, they may have talented artists and marketeers that are helpful. Always do your due diligence when selecting publishing services.

Eagle Lady Design Studio: Eagle Lady Design Studio is a graphic design and marketing firm in Prescott, Arizona specializing in helping businesses, authors, and individuals bring their ideas and dreams to life. See our recent works portfolio and check out the client success section.

Section 3: Essential Services & Platforms for Writers

From industry insights to platforms for sharing your work and finding opportunities, these services are valuable tools in any writer’s kit.
