This one-eyed Rocky Mountain Toad in the photo has returned to guard my back door for four years now. I first applied the name Jack, but later learned the proper name was Jill. In this photo, Jill is just waking up after a long winter nap. In minutes she started darting roly poly bugs with her surprisingly long tongue (only missing occasionally).
