Corr Syl Signing at Dewey-Humboldt Library

Corr Syl Book Signing

Attended my first book signing this morning.  Signed only 15 books, but #CorrSyl the Warrior Coverthe discussions were interesting and entertaining.  Met one sci-fi fan with more than 10,000 books in his personal library!  It was a good time, and I look forward to doing another.

My thanks to Jeff Franklin, Librarian, and Mary Franks, Library Volunteer for their help.  I also wish to thank the Friends of the Library for providing cookies and drinks.  You are the best!

  1. Fantastic blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on
everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for
a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any recommendations? Thanks!

    • Please excuse the delay. I have tried most of the free website hosts, and I have tried three that require payment. For free hosts, I recommend Google’s Blogger. Blogger is easy to use, it’s fast, and it has lots of options. For paid hosts, I recommend WordPress (go to wordpress.org) hosted on hostgator, namecheap, or others. You can google ‘hosts’ to get some ideas. I used GoDaddy for a while, and liked it, but support was not that good. I tried a managed service, Synthesis, but support there was actually quite bad. WordPress.com’s professional hosting service is somewhat limited, but it is consistently fast. Bottomline: Use Blogger.
