Hundreds Of Chickens Dead, ‘Cause Unknown’ In Bantul, Indonesia
Department of Agriculture and Forestry Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region, fielded animal health officials to investigate the cause of death of hundreds of chicken breeders belonging Segoroyoso village. “We have not been able to ascertain the cause for the new officers were deployed today to conduct the examination,” said Head of Animal Health, Department of Agriculture and Forestry (Dispertahut) Bantul, while Rahmat Agus confirmed on Thursday (6/3).
The case of the death of hundreds of chickens were reported in Kloron hamlet, village Segoroyoso, District Pleret, even some breeders claim to at least about 300 chickens belonging to six farmers in the local area died after suffering one or two days.
“Had I only have 25 chickens that died after sick for two days, if plus has six breeders here, numbering around 300an chicken,” said one farmer in Segoroyoso Pleret, Irwan Suryono.
