GR:  I learned today (Aug 3) that Russian scientists are claiming that the recently discovered Siberian craters in permafrost are common occurrences that herald the formation of a new lake. As reported on Jul 31, however, the large crater appears to be blast formed.  So what’s the energy source.  Is it methane?  The next question is how common is the formation of a new lake this way.  Stay tuned.
