Is whaling the biggest threat to whales?

As countries meet in Slovenia to discuss proposals for whale conservation the headlines are dominated by the activities of whaling nations.

    No, whaling kills only about 2000 cetaceans each year, meanwhile entanglements in nets kill about 300 000 cetaceans each year.
