I understand Orson Card has been very reluctant to let anyone adapt his novels to screenplays, wanting to do it himself. But it’s a very different process and type of writing. A writer named Gavin Hood got this job, so it will be interesting to find out how much flexibility he ended up with as he did the adaptation.
